Frequently asked questions

What is a meme coin heatmap?

A treemap visualisation of the meme coin market. Each rectangle is one coin, sized by market cap or 24h trading volume, and coloured by price change in the selected timeframe. Green clusters mean the segment is up, red clusters mean it is down. It is a fast way to see what is happening across hundreds of coins at once.

How is the cell size calculated?

By default cells are sized by market cap, so the biggest meme coins take up the most space. Toggle Size by Volume to switch to 24h trading volume instead. That mode highlights which memes are actually being traded right now, not just which have the biggest paper market cap.

What does each colour mean?

Cells go from bright red (down more than 10 percent) through dark red, dark grey (roughly flat), dark green, to bright green (up more than 10 percent). The colour reflects the price change over the timeframe you have selected: 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days.

What is the difference between CoinGecko and DEX Trending?

CoinGecko shows the top 100 established meme coins by market cap. DEX Trending pulls live data from GeckoTerminal trending pools across Solana, Ethereum, Base and BNB, including brand new memes that have not yet been listed on CoinGecko. Use Trending to spot what is pumping on DEXes right now.

Which chains are supported?

Solana, Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain. The chain filter lets you focus on one chain at a time. The All Chains view mixes everything together, sorted by market cap or volume depending on the size mode.

How often does the data update?

CoinGecko data is cached for roughly 5 minutes. DEX Trending data is refreshed by a background job every 30 minutes and served from cache so pages load fast. Both views auto-refresh while the tab stays open.

Can I share my heatmap view?

Yes. Every filter you set is stored in the URL, so you can copy the address bar and share it with anyone. There is also a Save screenshot button below the heatmap that exports a 1200 by 800 PNG with your current filters baked in.
